Create a cozy conversation area by placing seating so people are facing each other from a comfortable distance. There is nothing more annoying than having to twist and turn to see who is talking to you or having someone so far away that you are shouting to be heard. Its easy to create a private spot by placing a lounge chair, a window seat, or a desk in a corner. Try to place the furniture near a window where you can soak up the sun during the day or gaze at the stars at night.
The most common functional elements found when living room decorating is occurring are old wood tables being used as desks, a piece of a sail boat converted into a coffee table, or even a fancy piece of art, that happens to be a clock. These are your common, run of the mill functional design elements. There are plenty of others worth a try as well.
Try to go Neutral. It would be easy for you to dress up a living room decor when you begin with a neutral palette. You can try coordinating carpet, walls and major pieces of furniture in neutral shades or color like fawn, tan and even brown.
These fringes and braids can also be found at shops that sell used ones. So much so, you can take a look at your closet or cabinets for some accessory that you can use. If you do not have any photographs, do not worry because cut outs of old wall papers, papers for wrapping, or any beautiful and sophisticated fabrics can be used for the frames you procure. You will surely find beautiful fabrics or handkerchief with exquisite patterns stored in your cabinet.
