Furniture, our living room has two focal points, the fireplace and our TV armoire. Unfortunately, the armoire ended up next to the fireplace, simply because of the cable jack. It does work there quite well, but ideally we would have liked to move it around to some different places to get a feel for where it worked best. Just goes to show you that sometimes you have play the hand you are dealt.
Now, you can add a simple arm chair or a deck chair in a contemporary design to make it look more special. A black oak multifunctional coffee table can be teamed up with storage ottomans with leather for the center space of the room. You can also add chic shag rugs which often contrast well with contemporary black leather living room furniture. You can also use bright accents or pop arts to add glamor to the room.
Quality: Quality in furniture will often dictate the cost. A high quality piece of furniture is going to be more expensive than lower quality pieces. In general, high quality furniture will last longer than its lower quality counterparts and should also retain its value (if looked after). The finish will also be superior (due to materials used, i.e. leather as opposed to plastic etc), however that does not mean that cheaper furniture can not look good and last with value for money. Make sure you budget your money for furniture spending, you do not want to end up with just a beautiful Jacobean table, and nothing to sit around it!
We had the color scheme our favorite latte, a little red, a bit of of gold we knew the size then we saw it in the framed art and wall decor section at Kirklands. The frame was the perfect thickness the colors were just right and the size looked like it would fit pefectly above the mantle. Sometimes you just have to go for it. With all the online resources these days, its really easy to find pieces that go with your colors, before you even leave the house.
