Chairs provide a very simple yet effective way to relax and spend some good time in a comfortable body posture. But not all chairs are designed to "relax" . This is especially true about chairs in the workplaces. In the workplaces we are supposed to be alert hence the office furniture is designed to be alert at work.
Living room chairs should be lightweight and easy to move since they may need to be shifted to accommodate various activities and even differences in lighting at various times during the day. It may not be a great idea to use heavy varieties of wood like oak or rosewood. The color scheme should blend well with the colors of the couch, wall paint and other elements of soft furnishings like curtains and wall treatments. Chairs made of painted wood fit the bill, in terms of the ease with which these chairs can be blended into the decor, coupled with adequate strength.
Ancient Greeces (8BC -6AD) take on chair placement and the people who sat in them were a great deal different than the civilization before them. The concept of lesser citizens sitting on the floor or stools was entirely the same. Greek culture thought of placing extra chairs in various temples in order for the gods to make their direct presence known to the land. Advance time thousands of years forward to modern day living this would be like another occasional piece of furniture that does not always get used day in and day out. If the gods truly sat in these extra chairs one would think it would not be a daily occurrence.
That is where tub chairs came into play. They are a particular model of chairs that gives one the feeling of luxuriating in a bathing tub. Created for Royalty during the reign of King Louis XV in France, this style of chair has evolved into some of the most sought after furniture, for both commercial as well as household applications.
